"Empty Silence"
Part of a Group Katrina Museum Exhibition: Shown @ Colorado Springs Fine Art Museum 3-07 with hopes that group show will tour the U.S. - thus, it will not be a part of Golden's N.O.M.A. Katrina Exhibition in November 2007.
“EMPTY SILENCE” is the second painting produced in this series and is a created scene. Using photographs from different parts of New Orleans, as well as my knowledge of New Orleans architecture, I assembled them together, a typical old New Orleans street.
The “Yield” sign was taken from an unfinished drawing over 30 years old, it seems appropriately ironic. By Rolland Golden
